MultiChoice is the owner of both DSTV and GOTV digital Television service and has constantly being in the bad books of Nigerians whenever they announce increment of the different Pay TV plans. MultiChoice policy is to review cost ever 3 years or if the economic situation demands an urgent review.

The recent change in price is premised on numerous factors that are now confusing most watchers of the industry. On one hand, multichoice has decided to start putting the burden of the new 7.5% VAT announced this year on their customers without explaining who was paying the previous 5% charge.

Again, it is clear the company has cleverly created some packages while taking some off. In doing this, the simple rejigged the stations available to each plan and also the pricing. 

But it is important to understand that the increase in Dollars will have affected the company adversely as a lot of their contents are paid for using the foreign currency. 

Above all, the company is still providing access to digital television for as low as 410 Naira only.
