GIONEE M2017 - MEET GIONEE 850,000 NAIRA SMART PHONE
Gionee recently
unveiled a new smartphone called The Gionee M2017 to close market for the year. The device which was leaked
earlier in November but it is now finally here for the rich folks to buy. For a
smart phone that is much more expensive than the iPhone 7, then something big
must be coming from Gionee this time around.
The M2017 according
to reports is said to have two 3,500mAh batteries (A total battery size of
7,000mAh), meant to last up to nearly 26 hours of continuous video playback. It
also possesses a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440.
Coming with a massive 6 GB of RAM, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon
653 processor and also with dual rear camera lenses — 12MP sensor and 13MP
sensor. This is paired with an 8MP front-facing camera, a fingerprint sensor,
and an Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
The M2017
doesn’t come with two key features which are common to most phones — the Micro SD card slot and the 3.5mm
headphone jack.
The M2017 will
have two versions, the first will have 128GB of onboard storage and will be
sold at Yuan 6999 (about $1,007) while the version with 256GB of storage is
priced at Yuan 16,999 (about $2,446)!
Convert that to
Naira, at the rate of N340, you’d have to pay about N831,640 to get the 256GB
sized M2017.
That is a lot of
money for Nigerians during this hour of recession.
